Memorial to HLC Robinson

This stone scroll tablet in the north nave aisle of Rochester Cathedral commemorates Commander Henry Lushington Comyn Robinson of the Royal Navy, who served in HMS Esk during the New Zealand War of 1864–66. Robinson was the son of the Cathedral's own Canon.

He died on 16 August 1872, aged 40, shortly after joining HMS Aboukir at Jamaica while already ill. The tablet was erected by his widow.
